UK Corporate Compliance Services for Companies with a UK Subsidiary

If your group has established a UK subsidiary, it will have ongoing corporate compliance obligations under UK company law. These include both internal administrative responsibilities and external filing requirements at Companies House, the UK’s official company registry. At Türner & Co, we offer a practical, fully managed service to support overseas-owned UK entities with these requirements.

What is Companies House?

Companies House is the UK’s official registrar of companies, operated by an executive agency of the Department for Business and Trade. All UK companies and certain overseas entities must submit filings to Companies House to stay compliant. This includes basic information like who owns and controls the company, who the directors are, and where the company is based.

Companies House maintains the UK’s public register of:

  • UK limited companies (Ltds)
  • UK limited liability partnerships (LLPs)
  • Overseas entities owning UK property (see below)

What is “Company Secretarial” Work?

In the UK, corporate compliance responsibilities are often referred to as “Company Secretarial” duties. Historically, companies appointed a “Company Secretary” to handle these administrative and legal tasks. Today, most private limited companies (Ltds) do not have a named company secretary; instead, these duties fall to the directors.

These responsibilities are not ceremonial — they are legal obligations, and failing to meet them can result in penalties or company strike-off. We help directors meet these obligations with confidence.
