Working With Us

Fees, onboarding and timescales

You want the UK side handled, at a price you can see upfront, without being locked into a long contract. That is exactly how we work. This page sets out what it costs, how quickly we get you going, and the one bit of formality every UK firm has to do.

In short: our fees for UK VAT registration and returns are fixed and published below, with specialist and customs advice charged at clear hourly rates. Most clients are up and running within a week, some within a couple of days. There is no long tie-in: you can end our engagement with 21 days’ notice. Before we start, UK rules require us to verify who you are (Know Your Client), and our team guides you through a short online process.

How we work with you

  • No long tie-in. You are not locked into a lengthy contract. You can end our engagement with 21 days’ notice.
  • Upfront fees. You see the price before you commit, and we confirm it once we know what you need.
  • A senior point of contact who knows your situation, not a call centre.
  • In your language. We can run the whole relationship in German or English.

Getting started: how we set you up as a client

Like every accountancy firm, bank and law firm in the UK, we are required to verify who our clients are before we begin work. This is called Know Your Client, or “KYC”, and it is part of the UK anti-money laundering rules. It is a straightforward process, and our KYC team guides you through every step.

Here is what happens once you decide to work with us:

1
You let us know you would like to proceed.
2
Our KYC team gets in touch to explain exactly what we need from you.
3
You complete a short set of Know Your Client checks (the four parts are set out below). We send you everything you need and guide you through it.
4
We check the information at our end.
5
We send our engagement letter for you to sign electronically.
6
We are ready to begin.

The four Know Your Client checks (step 3)

Information about the company
Its legal name, registration number, the register it is held on, and how it is owned (its group structure and beneficial owners).
Director identity checks
A digital proof-of-identity check, completed by any three directors where there are three or more, or by all of them where there are fewer than three. This confirms each director’s identity and home address. We provide a step-by-step guide, and each check takes around ten minutes.
Beneficial owner identity
One photo identity document for each owner, sent by email. Anyone who is both a director and an owner completes this once, through the director check.
Three short statements to sign
Confirming the business’s position on Politically Exposed Persons, high-risk countries and sanctions. We provide these ready for signature.

How long does it take?

Most clients are ready to start within a week, and some within a couple of days. The pace depends on you: the sooner you send us your information and complete the identity checks, the sooner we can start work.
